There are 613 Laws in the Old Testament and somewhere around 1050 imperatives in the New Testament. Most of us cannot recite 10 of these yet every day I hear a myriad of rules recited by believers that we must follow or 'go to hell' that cannot be found in the Bible. We know from Jesus's teaching the whole of all these Biblical 1663 laws is summed up in loving the Lord your God with all your heart, mind, soul, and strength and loving your neighbor as yourself.
How does this work? Well, if you don't love yourself to the extent God loves you are not loving God much less your neighbor. |
