Of all places to find God. And that in the face of Jesus Christ.
A short time after Jesus had taken hold of me as all I would ever needed, I was praying with Linda in the otherwise empty sanctuary of the church where we were then members. In a split second I had this open eyed vision.
There was Jesus upon His cross. I strained to see His face. It was marred beyond recognition. I kept looking closer and closer until we were eye to eye. Then I saw Him, His core, His purpose, His end. I uncontrollably cried out loud, "My God! My God! Why have You forsaken me?" For in that instant I saw His face was my face, I was being crucified. I was going to die. I was a goner! Forever!
My father and brother-in-law were in the basement of the church and came running up to see what was wrong. Linda jumped out of her skin but I knew I was dead and the life I am living is not nor ever will be mine again (Gal 2:20).
